A Report On One Week Workshop on “AUTO CAD”
The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a one week workshop on “Auto CAD” with the support of Aylin Technologies Private limited from 22-09-2025 to 27-09-2025 in Geethanjali Institute of Science and Technology.
The inaugural session preceded by the Head of The Mechanical Engineering Department Dr.N.Padmasravya, addressed gathering by IIICC Head, Dr.P.Chakrapani and the importance of the workshop by Director of GIST, Dr G.Subbarao.
The main objective of this workshop is to create great learning platform for students of II year regarding drafting by using software tool(AUTO CAD) to enhance their knowledge while creating 3d models.
AutoCAD plays a crucial role in modern engineering design and manufacturing. AutoCAD provides a powerful platform for creating precise 2D and 3D representations of mechanical parts, enabling engineers and designers to visualize, simulate, and refine their designs before actual production. AutoCAD’s suite of drafting tools allows users to create accurate technical drawings with dimensions, tolerances, and annotations that comply with industry standards (such as ISO and ASME). Key features like layers, blocks, dimensioning tools, and object snaps help in organizing and streamlining complex assemblies. In mechanical drafting, AutoCAD is typically used to draw components such as gears, shafts, bearings, brackets, fasteners, and machine parts. These drawings often serve as manufacturing blueprints or assembly instructions, making precision and clarity essential.
Mechanical component drafting with AutoCAD is an essential skill for mechanical engineers and designers. It bridges the gap between conceptual design and real-world manufacturing, ensuring efficient, accurate, and professional documentation of mechanical systems.
