Right to Information (Statutory Declaration Under Sec-4(1) (B) of RTI Act 2005)

Introduction

The Right to Information Act, 2005 has been enacted by the Parliament and has come into force from 15 June, 2005. This Act provides for right to information for citizens to secure access to information under the control of public authorities in order to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority. All Universities and Colleges established by law made by Parliament or by State Legislature or by notification by the appropriate Government or owned, controlled or substantially financed directly or indirectly by funds provided by the Government shall come within the meaning of a Public Authority under this Act. Geethanjali Institute of Science and Technology, Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, has constituted the RTI Cell as per above Government norm & regulations to enable the students, citizens, and stakeholders to have the necessary access to the RTI related information/disclosures. Geethanjali Institute of Science and Technology RTI Cell makes speedy and timely disposal of the queries and grievances lodged by individuals or stakeholders from time to time. We assert in enabling the general public to have greater access to the domain of information systematically preserved by our office.

Application Procedure

The application may be type-written or neatly hand-written wherein atop “Application under RTI Act 2005.

The application may preferably be written through an e-mail and is accepted as a mode as per law and there is no such prescribed proforma for application.

Applications will not be discarded on the ground that they were not in prescribed proforma.

The application should be written in English or Telugu and be in a simple and easy language

Application is simply addressed to the “Public Information Officer, Geethanjali Institute of Science and Technology, Nellore

Mention your question question direct-point wise, avoid asking vague questions.

Avoid using too technical terms or legal terminology.

Attach Government RTI fee in the form of IPO/DD etc., as applicable with the RTI application.

At the end of the application, make a declaration that you are an Indian Citizen.
