“Research and Development” generally refers to longer-term enterprises in Engineering and technology, using techniques without proposed outcomes and with huge anticipations of commercial needs. History has shown that educational institutions across the globe have played an essential role in the substantial progress of humankind. To remain as a leader of discovery, one should investigate like a scientist and aggressive like an engineer. To attain satisfaction one needs results; publishable and applicative results. R&D flourishes only where students and experienced faculty works effectively.
The Research and Development Center (RDC) was established in 2014 to promote education focused on research and to equip students for successful careers.
A functional RDC will be established to promote the research activities and functions of faculty and students in the right direction. The center aims to foster a culture of research on campus by promoting innovative thinking, undertaking projects, seeking research funding, and collaborating with industry for consultancy activities. In addition, faculty members are encouraged to publish technical papers in professional journals and national and international conferences, and these faculty members receive appropriate financial support from the management funds. An internal research journal “GIST Researcher” was launched with the specific intention of providing technical support for the research work of the faculty and scholars.
Dr. K. Sravan Kumar, Professor of E.C.E has taken charge of Dean, R&D. Meanwhile, the In-House journal “GIST RESEARCHER” was renamed as “PARISHODHANA” to involve the student community into the stream of Research and Development. Plagiarism is literally, the theft of intellectual properties of others. It is the practice of making use of the ideas and expressions of others as our own without due acknowledgement. Plagiarism is considered academic dishonesty and cognizable ethical offence attracting serious punishments as they amount to copyright infringement.
The foundation of any academic Institution should be integrity and honesty in the process of imparting quality of education and encouraging research and scholarly communication. With the advent of internet and easy access of sources of information from the digital world, the evaluation of academic writing has become complex in academic community. Authenticity, honesty and quality adherence in academic writing bring academic integrity. Besides assessing the students and researchers for their skills, knowledge, and critical analysis in this information age, evaluating them for their academic integrity to shape them into responsible and contributing citizens becomes a real challenge.
VISION
Geethanjali Institute of Science and Technology makes use of Anti-Plagiarism software ‘Plagiarism Checker X’ for assessing the originality of Journal and Conference papers submitted by the faculty and the students. This facility is free of cost. Any faculty member or student is authorised to check their documents through Department of R&D once they got permission from their respective Head of the Department.

PARISHODHANA (In-House Journal)
PREFACE
The PARISHODHANA, an In-House Journal of Science and Technology, launched from Geethanjali Institute of Science & Technology, Nellore, aims at providing a forum to the research community for presentation of original work, reviews and discussion of latest developments in various fields of engineering. Research culture should form an integral part of an Engineering College and a Technical Journal with papers and articles exclusively contributed by the faculty members of the College will go a long way in inculcating the apt research culture in the institution. This In house Journal of Science and Technology, the first issue of which is being launched, is an attempt in this direction. The current volume contains research papers as well as perceptive articles by the staff and students of the college. The papers span a wide range including basic sciences and management science, apart from the engineering disciplines.
This Journal is a culmination of our efforts in adding a scientific and technological flavour to the services that are offered from GIST. The scenario of globalization had provoked the theme of quality and standard blended with high level of competence amongst the industrial sectors. The present day technological advancements are more rapid and recommend an amalgamated Engineering curriculum warranting students to equip with creative thoughts and multi level skills.
This Journal shall motivate the young minds to put forward their technical ideas in a lucid way and develop the art of publishing one’s own technical findings. This issue is exclusively devoted for publishing the research/project works carried out experimentally, analytically or both in different fields of Science, Engineering and Technology. I wish the editorial Board for their strenuous efforts in making this issue blossom with contents. Indeed such efforts are never possible for us without the stupendous support of our noble and service minded Management members.
Hope it enlightens and will knock the doors of numerous enthusiastic readers every year. This is a open platform and the faculty members and students to contribute by sending their valuable technical articles for publication.
