The National Science Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Geethanjali Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), Nellore on 28th February 2026. The programme aimed to promote scientific temper, encourage innovative thinking, and highlight the importance of science and technology among students. The event commenced at 10:00 AM with a Welcome Note delivered by Ms. A. Lahari, who warmly greeted the dignitaries, faculty members, and students. She briefly emphasized the significance of National Science Day and the need to nurture scientific curiosity among young minds.

The programme began on a graceful note with a Welcome Dance performed by P. Ahalya (I-II, AIML-B), which added cultural vibrancy to the event. Following this, the host invited the dignitaries onto the dais and formally commenced the programme proceedings. The event continued with a Prayer Song presented by M. Sri Pranathi and A. Namratha (I-II, AIML-A), creating a serene and respectful atmosphere for the programme.

The Inaugural Address was delivered by Dr. P. M. Kishore, HoD and Dean of Science & Humanities, who highlighted the significance of scientific research and innovation in national development. He encouraged students to cultivate curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for scientific exploration. Next, Dr. D. Srinivas, Principal, delivered the Presidential Address, emphasizing the role of science in shaping modern society and motivating students to actively engage in scientific learning and experimentation.

As part of the celebration, students presented PowerPoint presentations on various scientific topics. These presentations showcased their creativity, analytical thinking, and understanding of emerging scientific concepts.

Prize Distribution was conducted by Dr.G.Subbarao Rao, Director to recognize and appreciate the outstanding presentations by the students. The winners were felicitated by the dignitaries for their excellent performance, encouraging them to continue their pursuit of scientific excellence.
