The Department of Science and Humanities of Geethanjali Institute of Science and Technology (Autonomous), Nellore, successfully organised SRUJANA 2K26 – Sound Foundations, a one-day national symposium, on 2nd April 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students. The programme commenced at 10:00 AM with the Welcome Address delivered by Ms. A.Lahari, Assistant Professor, who greeted the dignitaries, faculty members, and participants, and highlighted the importance of such academic platforms in nurturing student talent.

The event began on an auspicious note with a prayer song presented by Ms. M. Sri Pranathi, setting a positive and serene atmosphere for the proceedings. The inaugural session was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Dr. P. M. Kishore, HoD and Dean of Science and Humanities; Dr. D. Srinivas, Principal; and Dr. G. Subbarao Rao, Director.

In his inaugural address, Dr. P. M. Kishore emphasised that students should not limit themselves to academic studies alone, but actively participate in programmes like symposiums, which play a vital role in enhancing their talents and overall development. The Presidential Address was delivered by the Principal, Dr. D. Srinivas, who encouraged students to think beyond conventional learning and not rely solely on textbooks. He stressed the importance of creativity, innovation, and independent thinking. The Keynote Address was given by the Director, Dr. G. Subbarao Rao, who highlighted the need for students to focus on real-time problems and develop practical solutions, thereby preparing themselves for real-world challenges..Students participated with great enthusiasm and passion in various domains such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English. The symposium featured activities including paper presentations, poster presentations, and quiz competitions, providing a dynamic platform for intellectual exchange and creativity.

In the valedictory programme, Dr. T. N. V. L. N. Kumar, Dean of Admissions, addressed the gathering and mentioned that programmes like these greatly benefit students by providing exposure and opportunities for overall growth.
