ONE DAY INDUSTRIAL VISIT On SRI DAMODARAM SANJEEVAIAH THERMAL POWER STATION, NELATUR

The department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized industrial visit for IIIB.Tech EEE Students to “Sri DamodaramSanjeevaiah Thermal Power Station, Nelatur” on 08september 2018. It is one of the largest powers generating plant in Nellore dist. It is the integration of three units with a capacity of 800mw each.

The plant management provided engineers to guide the students through the plant and to explain various sections. They demonstrated each and every component of generating unit. Engineers explained clearly about the working of turbine and generator. Later, he explained how the alternator converts mechanical into electrical energy and also how the electrical energy is transferred.       Boiler section engineer explained about the water taken from Krishnapatnam port is how stored and demineralisationdone. The flue and toxic gasses filtration and cold process for boiler section also explained. By this visit, students gained a lot of practical knowledge on functioning of power plant which they can remember the subject for long time. The 2 faculty Mr.G.Subbaiah, Asst. Professor, EEE and MsV.Lalitha    Asst. Professor, EEE engaged the students with the assistance of MrM.Raghu Kumar, ADE,APGENCO.
