A Five Day Hands on training in Embedded C Programming
A five day Hands on training in Embedded C Programming course code: 14ECVAC02 was organized by the department of ECE, from 25th Sep to 29th Sep 2017 in collaboration with embedded wings. The experts from embedded wings explained various concepts of Embedded C programming related aspects right from the fundamentals for IV year I Semester B.Tech ECE students.
The Principal of GIST, Prof. Dr. G.Subba Rao, in the inaugural address also mentioned the demand of Embedded Engineers in the related fields of Electronics. The head of the department of ECE, Mr.P.Raghava Reddy, Ms.SK.M.Shahina and faculty members of ECE also took part in the workshop actively.
The workshop started with a presentation on Embedded Systems and its related fields where opportunities are abundant in the industry. The presentation clearly explained what skills are required to become an embedded C designer or engineer. The entire workshop was designed into two modules, 8051 micro controller being the first and it took totally three sessions and Arduino boards being the second which also took three sessions. Equal emphasis was given to both the modules in the workshop.
The workshop resource persons initially focused on 8051 micro controllers and embedded C programming then to Arduino board related projects. The students got a chance to learn in depth about programming methodologies, debugging techniques and code dumping processes, thoroughly. Meanwhile the queries raised by the students were also answered in an efficient way in all the sessions by the resource persons.
The workshop participants were able to successfully code and run their programs dynamically on hardware with ease after completion of the main sessions of the first module. In detailed demonstrations were given on various sensors and LCD interfacing techniques. The workshop turned out to be a major successful event, imparting lot of knowledge about embedded C programming and related systems and how to work with various micro controllers.
