Report on Value Added Course “PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS IN PYTHON”
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Geethanjali Institute of Science & Technology, organized a Value Added Course on **Problem Solving Skills in Python** by L. Aishwarya, Trainer & Developer, Xtragrad Technologies PVT Ltd, Hyderabad from 15-09-2025 to 22-09-2025. The objective of this course was to equip students with fundamental and advanced problem-solving abilities using Python programming language, which has become an essential tool in the fields of computer science, data science, and automation. Around 135 students of II B.Tech (CSE) actively participated in the Value Added Course.
Objectives of the Course:
* To introduce students to Python programming concepts.
* To enhance logical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
* To provide hands-on training in writing efficient and optimized code.
* To develop practical applications using Python.
Course Content:
The course covered the following key areas:
- Introduction to Python and its features
- Variables, data types, and operators
- Control structures: decision-making and looping
- Functions and modular programming
- Strings, lists, tuples, dictionaries, and sets
- File handling and exception management
- Problem-solving approaches and algorithmic thinking
- Case studies and real-world applications
Mode of Delivery:
* The course was conducted through **online interactive sessions** using platforms such as [Google Meet/Zoom/MS Teams].
* Sessions included live demonstrations, coding practice, and doubt-solving discussions.
* Study materials, assignments, and coding exercises were shared through online learning management tools.
* Students actively participated in quizzes, problem-solving tasks, and project presentations.
Outcomes of the Course:
* Students gained confidence in solving computational problems using Python.
* Participants developed analytical and logical reasoning skills.
* The course provided a foundation for further exploration in advanced domains such as data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
* Students were able to design and implement Python programs to solve real-life problems.
The Value Added Course on **“Problem Solving Skills in Python”** proved to be highly beneficial to the participants. It not only improved their programming abilities but also strengthened their logical thinking and problem-solving mindset. The department plans to continue such initiatives to enhance students’ technical competencies and industry readiness.
