An awareness building event on “Hormonal Imbalance” was organised at GIST on Monday 04/03/2024, and then joint auspices of S&H department, Women Protection Cell and ICC for I B.Tech students.
Participating in the programme as a Chief Guest, a reputed Diabetologist, Endocrinologist and Thyroid Clinic Physician Dr. A. Sahaja Reddy said that the modern generations of students are facing a lot of academic stress and exam pressures due to heavy competition resulting in a wide range of health issues. The hormonal imbalance is a major problem that the current youth is faced with, and especially women and girls suffer from irregular menstrual cycles and anaemia.
Dr. A. Sahaja Reddy advised the students to regularly practice Yoga and Meditation for physical health and emotional balance. She also suggested the students cultivate healthy food habits to combat imbalance of hormones and gain robust health.
Dr.K.Sundeep Kumar, Principal said that the institution adopting several measures to ensure health and well being of the students. Mr. N. Sudhakar Reddy, secretary, Dr. G. Subbarao, Director and Dr. K. Vijaya, Convenor of Women Protection Cell and various HoD’s and faculty participating in the event.
