NATIONAL MATHEMATICS DAY CELEBRATIONS
National Mathematics Day celebrations were conducted by the dept. of S&H on 22, December 2021 to mark the 125th birthday of the noted Indian Mathematical genius S. Ramanujan. The programme was the result of a collaborative endeavor by both S&H and IICC dept. backed by A.P.S.S.D.C.
Addressing the students from all branches of S&H, Dr. G. Subba Rao, Principal lauded the sterling contribution made by Ramanujan to Indian Mathematics. Ancient Indian Mathematicians like Arya-Bhatta, Bhaskaracharya, Brahmaguptha and Leelavathi were the standard bearers of Indian Mathematics in the hoary past, he said even such a renowned genius and legendary physicist Albert- Einstien acclaimed the glorious achievements of ancient Indian mathematicians, he said. He urged the students to cultivate the spirit of innovation as the nation is in dire need of engineers with progressive vision and innovative potential to ensure a rapid growth in all the spheres. He explained the importance of Ramanujan’s magic number 1729 in multiplications.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. P.M.Kishore urged the students to emulate the noble example of late S.Ramanujan and strive to achieve exvellence in Mathematics putting forward a passionate and dedicated endeavor.
In connection with the event, academic toppers in different subjects and winners in various competitions were awarded prizes, mementos and certificates. The Programme was a huge success with the standard bearers, active participation of all H.O.Ds, faculty and students.
