The central government sponsored Independence Day week celebrations on behalf of AZADI-70 came to a close at GIST on 23rd August 2016. As a part of the initiative, various events were organized from August 9th to August 23rd 2016, at the institution like Tree-plantation, patriotic songs, poetry contest, Essay Writing, Elocution were conducted, according to Sri Dr. G. Subba Rao, Principal “All the 2500 students of the college, faculty, management representatives, technical and administrative staff lent their voice in chorus to render National Anthem. 500 I year engineering students formed a huge India map on the campus”.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. N.SUDHAKAR REDDY, Secretary and Correspondent, said it was heartening to note that the Swatch Bharat Initiative sponsored by central government evoked overwhelming response among the students of GIST. He stressed the need to conduct such programme as would inculcate spiriting of sacrifice service and patriotism among the student community.
Mr. D.V.S.S PHANI KUMAR, Director, Mr. P. ASHOK KUMAR, Physical Director, Mr. M.MAHESH KUMAR, NSS Programme Officer, other H.O.D’s, faculty and students were present on the occasion.
