FRESHER’S DAY CELEBRATIONS AT GIST – July 2018
Freshers Day celebrations 2018 extending a warm welcome to the I year B.Tech. students were organised with great fervour and fanfare on 21st July 2018 Saturday. Speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest of the event Mr. R. Balakrishnan, CEO,Excellencia (Tech Consultancy Agency) said that the freshers would have to focus on skill development apart from consolidating their knowledge in the core domains. He emphasized the importance of communication skills and a variety of skills in their professional career building. He gave the students an hour long motivation session which evoked an overwhelming response from the students.
Another guest of honour Mr. Md. Rashid, Managing Director, Chennai based Accem Industries exhorted the students to distinguish between Intermediate Education and Engineering Education which calls for innovative thinking and out of the box ideas making a departure from routine monotonous rote learning which serves to evaluate their memory instead of invigorating their other mental abilities and competencies. He advised the students to play a responsible role that contributes to the overall progress of the society.
Mr.D. B. Ravi Reddy, Chairman, USHODAYA EDUCATIONAL SOCIETY,Mr. N. Sudhakar Reddy, Secretary and Correspondent, Dr.G.Subbarao, Principal, Mr. P Srinivasulu Reddy,Joint Secretary, Mr. Y. Vijay Shankar Reddy, Treasurer, all HODs, and Faculty took part in the event. The cultural programs presented by the students captivated the audience.
