Report on “Empowering Women in Sports”
An Awareness programme on “Empowering Women in Sports” was conducted by the Internal Complaint Committee of Geethanjali Institute of Science and Technology on 25-11-2019 at 10 AM in the New Seminar Hall with the aim of educating students and faculty about the importance of empowering women in sports. The Event was coordinated by Ms. Ch. Kalyani, Associate Professor of S&H department and Ms.Silpi Priyanka , Asist.Prof. Professor of EEE department. Totally 80 girl students have participated. The students took part with great enthusiasm
Launching the programme Prof Dr. G. Subba Rao, Principal said that women would excel in sports, if they were provided with right opportunities. Many women were bringing honour to the nation like Saina Nehwal, Sindhu, Mithali Raj by their spectacular performance.
The Secretary and Correspondent Sri N. Sudhakar Reddy stressed on the need to encourage and empower women in sports and games to enhance the pride of the country globally. After the completion of the programme sports competitions were conducted.
