As a part of the initiative taken by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, GIST became a venue for the British Council’s blended learning course. The Andhra Pradesh Higher Education English Communications Skills project, in partnership with Andhra Pradesh government and the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), aims to empower thousands of learners in English and employability skills across 198 higher education institutions in the state. Master trainers all over the state rendered training to  teachers with a strong focus on continuing professional development. The British Council’s English language training and assessment solutions are designed as per the Common European Framework of Reference for languages. The programme was intended to be organised by providing training to faculties of local colleges by Master trainers certified by British Council. Ms.K.T.E Sandhya Kiran Asst. Prof. of English and Ms.M.Manasa, Asst. Prof. of English from Dept of Science and Humanities were selected as master trainers for Nellore District by British Council. 12 faculties from Various Departments and Disciplines were appointed as trainers and were provided the needed training and material in the month July 2017 by Ms. K.T.E. Sandhya Kiran. The program was designed to give 90 hrs of instructions o students during the Academic Year 2017-2018 and continued till 2018-2019 with a diagnostic test before the commencement of the program and certification exam after the completion of the course and 5th May 2018. All the students of 3rd year from every discipline participated in the program.
