“Amazon Web Services-Amazon Alexa” at GIST

A Six day workshop on Amazon Web Services was organized by the department of ECE, from 22nd to 27th July 2019 in collaboration with APSSDC. The experts from APSSDC explained various concepts of Amazon Web Services related aspects right from the fundamentals for III year B.Tech ECE students.

The workshop started with a presentation on introduction to Amazon Alexa and origin of Amazon Web Services. The presentation clearly explained the origin of AWS andservices are provided by the Amazon Web Services. The entire workshop includes concepts of Cloud computing, EC2 services in AWS, Auto Scaling, Simple Storage ServicesS3, Creation of Window Server, and Python Programming,Lambda services in AWS,Introduction to Alexa and programming in Amazon Developer Account. Equal emphasis was given to all the concepts in the workshop.

The students got a chance to learn in depth about Python programming, Alexa introduction and programming in Amazon developer Account.. Meanwhile the queries raised by the students were also answered in an efficient way in all the sessions by the resource persons.

The Principal of GIST, Prof. Dr. G.Subba Rao, in the inaugural address also mentioned the demand of Amazon Web Services and the job opportunities. Mr.P.Raghava Reddy, Head of the department of ECE, Dr.P.Chakrapani HOD, IICC, Mr.K.Prabhakar Reddy, Assoc. Professor and P.Madhavi, Asst.Prof of ECE also took part in the workshop actively.
