A National Level WORKSHOP

“Bike Assembly & Disassembly of Bike”

Geethanjali Institute of Science and Technology (GIST)
The department of Mechanical Engineering organized a two days national level workshop on the topic “Bike Assembly & Disassembly of Bike” by Mr.M.Sudheer, Technical developement centre hub-Moto Build held from 11-02-2019 to 12-02-2019.The Principal of GIST, Prof. Dr. G.SubbaRao addressed the students regarding the industrial automation and application of power electronic drives in industry.The resource person discussed about This workshop was organized by Mechanical Engineering department to enhance the skills and increase the employability of the students. This workshop also addressed queries about fundamentals of I.C. Engine. 100 students of ME.(Mechanical) drew substantial benefits from this workshop. Following discussions and demonstrations of engine dismantling, assembly, and maintenance (for Hero Honda CD 100 SS Model) were held –

- Demonstration on engine details- cylinder, bore, piston, connecting rod, crank shaft, inlet and exhaust valves, carburetor etc.
- Multi plate clutch, oil bath, clutch removing and refitting
- Demonstration on Constant Mesh Gear Box
- Capacitive Discharge Ignition system, CDI coils, parts operated on AC-DC Current and its use
- Use of ‘O’ ring set, packing set, engine oil while assembling
- Overhauling of Four Stroke engine head, Valve timing setting
- Fault finding in engine, clutch and ignition system
- Precautions / Care to be taken while assembly of engine
- How to start an assembled engine?
