The department of Mechanical Engineering organized a one day guest lecture on “Advance IC Engines” by Mr.S.Jaffer Hussain, AGM, GMMCO, Chennai on10-10-2015 and nearly 130 students including 2 nd , 3 rd , 4 th Mechanical Engineering students was attended this guest lecture. The Principal of GIST, Prof. Dr. G.SubbaRao addressed the students regarding the Role of Advance IC Engines. The resource person discussed about this seminar was organized by Mechanical Engineering department to enhance the skills and increase the employability of the students.
First he started with the importance of power generator with the diesel engine & electrical generator. He explained the fundamentals of 4-stroke diesel engine-Valve system, Injection system, Lubrication system and cooling system. How to save the heat energy-by recirculation of exhaust gases, working of alternator, production of e.m.f, various applications of alternator. The guest lecture was very impressive and he has conducted the questions & answers session also.
