Youth have a crucial role in building a corruption free society

Educated and enlighten young men women have to play a constructive, positive role in building a corruption free society, said Mr N. Srikant, Dist Collector & Magistrate, SPSR Nellore. Inaugurating a blood donation camp at GIST ( A NSS unit initiative), held under auspicious of Red Cross Blood Bank, Nellore on 26 Feb 2014, he said that students should conduct themselves with a sense of social responsibility by exercising their franchise cautiously in the forth coming polls.

He called upon the students to be aware of the personal back ground of each contesting candidate and cast their vote with discretion and wisdom. He urged them to take part in the democratic exercise of voting contribute the formation of government that would provide clean governance with transparency and accountability. Underscoring the importance of getting awareness about donating blood, he stated that giving one unit of blood would save three lives.

Sri E. Sudhakar, Convener Red Cross Blood Bank, Nellore said that students should organize awareness camps to dispel with blood donation prevalent in the general public. And thanked GIST for donating 203 units of blood such a huge number in recent days.

Dr. G. Subba Rao, Principal, speaking on the occasion said that GIST is in the fore front organizing social service programs and charitable events to serve the society, besides imparting quality technical education thus transforming the youngsters in to responsible citizens.

Mrs. Sirisha, MRO Kovur, sri N sudhakar reddy, Secretary and correspondent GIST, H.O.Ds, faculty and students took part in the event.
