Abstract
A plasma antenna represents a completely new technology of antennas, metal antennas currently in implementation use metallic conductor as guiding medium for electromagnetic radiations. Plasma antennas are radio frequency antennas that uses ionized medium. Due to this small change many advantages associated with plasma antenna compared to traditional antenna. The future of high -frequency, high-speed wireless communications could very well be plasma antennas capable of transmitting focused radio waves that would quickly dissipate using conventional antennas. Plasma antennas might be able to revolutionise not just wireless communications but also radar arrays and directed energy weapons. Since the gas is ionized only for the time of transmission or reception, “ringing” and associated effects of solid wire antenna design are eliminated.
