Dr. D. Srinivas has an illustrious career spanning over three decades in engineering education and research.  He served as Professor, Head of Department, Vice Principal, Dean and Principal in a couple of reputed engineering colleges. He left his indelible mark of professionalism in every role he played in his long career. 

He has strong academic credentials with Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering, Masters in Geoengineering and a Ph.D. in Geoengineering (awarded in 1999) from Andhra University.  His doctoral thesis was evaluated and appreciated as a cutting edge research by Professor Arthur Philip Cracknell, a distinguished British physicist.

He continued his research and development in Civil Engineering and allied fields. He was a recipient of the prestigious Senior Research Fellowship of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).  He was a recipient of the Young Scientist research grant under Science and Engineering Research Council (SERC) from Department of Science Technology (DST), Government of India.  He received research grants from other prestigious bodies like AICTE and World Bank also.  He was successful in getting research grants of over Rs. 50/- lakhs from these bodies.

He has published his research works in several peer reviewed international and national journals from highly acclaimed research publishing houses like Elsevier, Word Scientific Publishing and Taylor & Francis.  Apart from research, he is recognized for his consultancy services in geotechnical investigations during the last 25 years for various government and private organizations.

On the academic front, he has nurtured creative and innovative pedagogic skills in his long teaching career.  He has mentored several students who are now occupying high positions in India and abroad.  He has encouraged and mentored several faculty in pursuing their research projects also. 

He is recognized as a distinguished academician with deep commitment to academic excellence, research, leadership and institutional governance.  He is an elected Fellow of Institution of Engineers (FIE), a life member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and was also an associate member of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
