IE(I) Student Chapter-ME
Objectives: The Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI] is a statutory body to promote and advance the engineering and technology, established in 1920 and incorporated by Royal Charter in 1935. The IE(I) has its headquarters located in Kolkata with national presence through more than hundred centers and several overseas Chapters, Foras and Organ. In 2020, Mechanical EngineeringDepartment of GeethanjaliInstitutute of Science and Technology started IE (I) student chapter with 50 student memberships and few faculty memberships.

Activities Proposed under IE (I) Students chapter
- Up liftment of engineering knowledge through research work
- Grant-in-Aid scheme for R&D work to be carried out by the students of engineering colleges and universities
- Inculcate the culture of research in the budding engineers for nation building
- Serve as a technology collaborator and facilitator
- Disseminate the outcome of R&D projects through its publications for benefit of engineering profession and the society
- To motivate the students and faculty members to access the Technical publications of IEI.
- To encourage the students and faculty members to publish technical papers in IEI Journals.
- To assist for applying and getting funds for conducting Seminar/Workshops from IEI.
- To motivate the students in participating competitions like Technical Quiz, Essay writing and Elocution conducted by IEI local chapters.
- To motivate the students and faculty members participating in National and International seminars/workshops conducted by IEI in different parts of the country at a concessional rate.
