Geethanjali institute of science and technology celebrated women’s day on 8thMarch 2023.. Every lady faculty and girl students in the college joined in the celebrations of International Women’s Day. The college always supports and encourages its students as well as staff members- both teaching and non teaching.

Chief Guest Smt. Dr.T.Lakshmi addressed the gathering and spoke about the importance of women not only to the society but also to the college. She said that Gender-based violence is a global pandemic that affects 1 in 3 women in their lifetime. This issue is not only devastating for survivors of violence and their families, but also entails significant social and economic costs. She also said that one characteristic of gender-based violence is that it knows no social or economic boundaries and affects women and girls of all socio-economic backgrounds: this issue needs to be addressed in both developing and developed countries. She advised to students to take different types of cancer vaccines are available in the hospitals and she explained how those vaccines protect their lives.

Director Sri G. Subba Rao spoke about the being independent, for being confident. Principal sir spoke about women rights are violated by legal regulations they must be protected by women themselves. He cited various laws that are enacted in favor of women and asked the women to utilize and protect them. He also discussed about the importance of different types of women protection APP’s   which are very useful to students now a days in society .

Convener of ICC Dr.K.Vijaya spoke about women rights and how to live happily in the society without any fear. In this event All HOD’s, all Women faculty participated.  Around 150 students and staff members were present on the occasion.
