REPORT ON ORIENTATION DAY FOR I YEAR B.TECH STUDENTS (A.Y 2020-21)
An ‘Orientation Day’ programme was organized at GIST, on 18.01.2021 (Monday) to welcome the I B.Tech students for the academic year 2020-2021. The ‘Induction Event’ was attended by over 1000 students and their parents.
Addressing the gathering after lighting the Ceremonial Lamp, Mr. Amit Ashok Sagar, Head(learning and Development), Semens Gamesa Renewable Power Private Limited, Nellore(A.P) underscored the importance of engineering education in technological progress of the nation. He urged the students to develop global perspective to solve the problems afflicting the country. He also emphasized the importance of developing other employable skills apart from fostering command on the fundamentals of engineering subjects.
Another guest of honor, noted personality development trainer, psychologist, career counselor, Mr. S. Sudheer said on the occasion that placement opportunities are abundant for the students who have high confidence levels, drive, dynamism and other leadership qualities. He added that young engineering aspirants could build bright professional career keeping pace with the rapidly growing technology provided they exhibit creative competencies and willingness to do focused, sustained hard work.
Dr. G. Subba Rao, Principal speaking on the occasion, said that GIST was competing with its peer institutions in admissions, results, placements and quality engineering education at the state level, adopting unique teaching methodologies and marching forward relentlessly towards realization of the goals and dreams of the parents and students.
Mr. N. Sudhakar Reddy, Secretary and Correspondent, Sri V. Vijaya Sankar Reddy, Treasurer, Dr. T.N.V.L.N Kumar, Director,H.O.Ds, faculty participated in the event.
