A National level conference titled “NCATCSIT-2014”on Advanced Technologies in Computer Science and Information Technology was organized on a grand scale under the joint auspices of Computer Science and Engineering dept and Research & Development wing of Geethanjali Institute Of Science and Technology on 26th April, 2014.
Participating in the event as the Chief Guest,Prof. Dr. RBV Subramanyam, Associate Dean and Deputy Registrar NIT Warangal said that computer science is witnessing revolutionary changes across the world. Underscoring the need for the students of CSE stream to take up extensive theory and research in the domain of computer engineering, he called upon them to showcase their creative zeal and flair for innovation, by paving the way for novel inventions thus making a significant contribution to nation’s technological progress.
Chief Guest Prof.Ch.D.V.Subba Rao, H.O.D,CseDept Of S.V.Engineering College, S.V. University, Tirupati said that technical discourses ,conferences, seminars, workshops are an indispensable part of knowledge society. They called upon the students to develop indigenous networking systems such as Yahoo and Google.
He urged the students to gain strong grip over the fundamental principles and concept of computer science and engineering domain, facilitating the up gradation of their technical competencies and expertise. through transfer of ideas and exchange of knowledge. He reminded the students that such eminent personalities as APJ Abdul Kalaam, Sam Pitroda and Sir C.V.Raman shot to international prominence, hailing from humble backgrounds, pursuing their education in prestigious Indian technical institutions.
Prof.G.Subba Rao, Principal said that over 50 technical papers were received from various colleges across the state, he said that GIST would always play a lead role in fostering creative innovative spirit among students by conducting such purposeful academic activities as conferences, technical symposia workshops and seminars.
