Gaiety and fanfare marked international women’s day celebrations at GIST on 8th march 2018, i.e. Wednesday. The celebrations imparted a festive look to the campus with women faculty and women technical and administrative staff reported to the college in colourful attire; appropriate to the occasion. The programme was conducted by GIST NSS unit.
Addressing the women staff as the chief guest Dr. G. Subbarao, principal called upon the women to march ahead with dynamism and determination to excel men in all fields. He lauded the contribution of the fair sex to the human progress and prosperity. Coming out of centuries of subjugation and tyrannical domination of man.
Mr. N. Sudhakar Reddy, correspondent and secretary, said that a women’s capacity for love, aesthetic sense, tenderness is stabilising factor for emotionally distributed states of men.it is really heartening to that the modern women is transcending several social hurdles to usher in an egalitarian society. the misconception that women are inferior to men thrives only on ignorance, he added later many entertainment events were conducted after formal inaugural session came to an end.
Dr. G. Kameswari acted as the coordinator of the event. The event turned out to be a grand success with several faculties taking part in musical chairs, dance and singing performance as well as food festival.
