INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY OBSERVED IN GIST, NELLORE

International Yoga Day celebrations were organised at GIST with much gaiety, fanfare and fervour on 21st June 2019.

Participating in the event as the chief guest, Mr. Ravindra, a popular yoga trainer said that India had inherited the legacy of Yoga from Sage Pathanjali, who propounded the Yogasanas therapy for several diseases and promotion of health and physical fitness. Mr. Ravindra said, Yoga is a holistic approach in the preventive, rehabilitative and curative aspects of health. Yoga and meditation facilitate improvement of concentration and memory. He urged the students to practice Yogasanas regularly to generate positive physical energy conducive to hard work and endurance of pain, stress, pressure and strain.

Students practiced several Yogasanas in connection with the event. Mr. T.L.V.L.N. Kumar, Director. Mr. M. Mahesh Kumar, N.S.S. Officer, HoD’s and faculty took part in this event.
