104th INDIAN SCIENCE CONGRESS @ Tirupati
The 104th Indian Science Congress was inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Mr.Narendra Modi at Taraka Rama Stadium S V University, Tirupathi on 03-01-17.In his inaugural speech PM Modi highlighted the crucial role played by Science & Technology in the progress of the nation and emphasized on the role and responsibility of every Indian Citizen to imbibe the scientific temper and spirit of enquiry and reason to carry forward the nation to great heights.
The five-day Indian science congress session was telecast live on every day basis, and on 03-01-2017, III and IV CSE students witnessed the inaugural session, on screen at Digi Hall. On 04-01-17, IV & III ECE Sections attended the forenoon and afternoon session of the Indian Science Congress. A lecture was deliver by Nobel Laureate Prof. John Tirole experts delivered talks on Industry, Academia interaction, Space Technology, Nano Technology Frontier of Defense Research, S&T in the neighborhood, Extended Neighborhood & African Countria, Next Generation Network and disaster Management, Ethanol Economy Science Policy Technology led Innovation for Societal Applications.
On 05-01-2017, the IV and III EEE Students attend the session during the Forenoon and Afternoon. A talk was delivered by Nobel Laureate Prof. Haroche in Connection with the event and a public lecture was delivered by Dr.R.Chidambaram, Cloud computing and Virtualization, 5G and Internet of things, Mentor ship and Networking in Science, Swachh Bharat, Smart Cities, Indian Nuclear program, Scientific Applications of HPCC were the subjects touched upon by the experts during the session.
On 06-01-2017 IV and III mechanical engineering students were present at the Digi Hall to witness the program. Sports science &sports medicine, food and nutrition security, bio-resources impact of climate change, gravitational waves including LIGO&VIRGO, Enhancing the quality of science education and research : role of accreditation, climate change/monsoons, blue economy , India’s efforts, CRISPR-CAS9 gene editing, human micro biome were the issues taken up by the experts during the forenoon & afternoon sessions
On 07-01-2017 IV mechanical & civil students gathered at the forenoon & afternoon session, at the Digi Hall. Robotics, cyber security, advanced materials, solar energy photo voltaic & thermal, off shore wind farms, frontiers in hemostats and thrombosis, photonics and Meta material science and technology in north east region were the subjects discussed by experts in respective spheres of specialization.
The Indian Science Congress turned out to be a richly enlightening event with a galaxy of Nobel Laureates such as Prof. Ada.E.Yonath, Prof. kip thorne, Prof. Moerner, Prof. Kajita gave lectures on their respective fields of study & research .Prof. M.Younus and G.P Chatterjee Memorial Award Lecture, BC Guha Memorial Lecture had an educative impact on the youngsters. Cultural shows in Connection with the event enthralled the audience on 07-01-2017. General Body Meeting of ISCA was followed by a fitting valedictory Function, Wrapping up the 5-day Indian Science Congress Session.
