Inauguration of Decennial Celebrations of GIST
2017-2018
The Decennial Celebrations marking the Tenth Anniversary of GIST were organized with gaiety, pomp and fanfare. The celebrations were held with the Principal aim of looking back on the past achievement during the nine-year journey of the institution and evaluating its progress while reaffirming its commitment to achieving more and more mile stones in future.
Formally lighting the ceremonial lamp and launching the celebrations the Chief Guest, Mr. E.S. Chakravarthy, Center Head, Tata Consultancy Services Bangalore, addressed a large gathering of students, faculty and HOD’s. In his inaugural address Mr. Chakravarthy laid stress on inculcation of values and ethics among the students to foster amicable social relations and progress on the path of professional success. Apart from achieving a distinct mark of excellence in academics, students should focus on the all round development of their personality to be integral part of societal advancement and national welfare. They must bring laurels to the institution, their family in particular and society in general by their impeccable conduct and credentials. Mr. Chakravarthy said earlier, Dr. G. Subba Rao, Principal outlined the progress made by GIST during the last 9 years since its inception in 2008, in his welcome address.
Dr. Raja Reddy, Director, Consultancy, Projects and publications dwelt at length on the importance of fostering a creative spirit among the students.
Mr. G. Sathish Paul, Sr. Professor spoke on the importance of developing life skills among the students.
Mr. Y. Dinakar, Placement Officer threw much light on the activities of the Training & Placement Division
All the HOD’s, faculty and I B.Tech students were present at the programme.
