Handicraft Training

A one day Handicraft training program was organized for girls students and women faculty at Geethanjali Institute of Science & Technology by Internal Complaint Committee.The training is expected to impart techniques related to various handicrafts. Trainers from Fedilite company, Nellore branch handled sessions for students and faculty members.

Speaking on the occasion Prof. G. Subbarao, Principal, addressed the students and said that  in this industrialized world, people always look out for branded products. Apart from this, some people also buy quality hand-made products popularly known as Handicrafts. The handicraft business is growing in demand atseveral parts of the globe. Even though the products of `handicraft are considered as traditional work, there are many advantages and benefits in it. It is a very good platform to enhance personal interests and skills.

Another speaker AssocProf  K. Vijaya/HoD/S&H,  stressed that handicrafts are all about making craft with available things mostly recycled household waste products. The raw materials are very cheap and easy to purchase. The economic growth can also be achieved by employment generation and proper transformation of local raw materials into useful products. The sessions witnessed a very active presence and participation of considerable number of girl students and women faculty.
