The students and faculty of GIST College commemorated the birthday of Dr. A. P .J. Abdul Kalam on a grand note. A special assembly was conducted by the faculty and students. One of the Council members gave a speech on the life of Dr. AP.J.Kalam. Students were then sent to their classes. A special documentary was prepared on Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam – his life, his achievements, his journey from a newspaper boy to a scientist. The missile man,everything about him from the cradle to the grave.
In his address Principal Prof. G. Subba Rao said the UNO had declared birthday of Abdul Kalam as World Students Day. He said Kalam Ji was not only a great scientist but also a poet, a humanitarian and a gifted teacher. He advised students to take inspiration from his life and aim for higher goals.
