An Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme was organized at GIST on 22nd February 2017, for the 2nd year engineering students participating in the programme as the chief guest, Smt. G. GEETHA, senior civil judge, kovur, said that “Ragging is an evil and unlawful practice imported from the west. Innumerable junior students were taking their lives across university campuses in India, unable to endure the physical as well as mental suffering resulting from this evil practice”. Another guest of honor, Mr. A.VENKATA RAO, SI cautioned the students against resorting to ragging thus placing their future at risk. Dr G. SUBBARAO, principal said that GIST had earned the fame as a ragging-free campus and many remedial measures were initiated in the campus to prevent ragging incidents.
