With three decades of rich academic and industrial experience Professor Subba Rao has been leading the GIST in its endeavor to excel in its educational advancement and industrial expertise. He is the man who brought the institution the distinction of an academic hub with a fragrance of modern technology and traditional culture. After graduating in Mechanical Engineering from IEI, Calcutta, he completed Post Graduation in JNTU, Ananthapuram and obtained Ph.D., from SCSVMV University, Kancheepuram. He has a vast and enduring experience as Professor, Head of Department, Dean-Academics and has been a member of various academic and administrative bodies different educational bodies, Universities and worked as University nominee for MHRD, AICTE, and AIEEE committees.
He has attended, organized and chaired various Conferences, Seminars of National and International importance. His rich and rewarding experience has been evident in the publications of his analytical articles in various Journals and Conferences of International and National importance. He has successfully handled the sponsored projects of MNES, UGC, and AICTE funded MODROBS, STTPS to the tune of Rs.40 lakhs during his tenure. His intellectual and professional journey stands for his brilliance. Above all, he is a great scholar and creative industrial thinker with a vision of future. Apart from an eminent professor and an excellent communicator, Professor Subba Rao’s eloquence and administrative capabilities have been well acclaimed. He empowered the knowledge of students through his thought provoking and powerful lectures.
To top it all, he is a noble and able man whose remarkable and significant services to the institution are unparallel. His co-ordination, amicability have been an asset to the institution which are fostering intra and inter institutional relations.
