A TWO-WEEK ISTE WORKSHOP ON “Technical Communication” was conducted during November 30th to December 5th 2015 at Geethanjali Institute of Science & Technology, Nellore, Center code 1294, is the Remote center of IIT, Kharagpur/Bombay for ISTE Workshop. under the National Mission on Education through IIT BOMBAY, MHRD, Govt. of India coordinated by Dr. Y. Jahnavi and Mrs. Sandhya Kiran K.T.E
The workshop was conducted through the DISTANCE EDUCATION mode and transmitted live through internet (A-View software).The Workshop was organized in blended MOOC model, so as to train teachers for adopting the use of Massive Open Online courses (MOOCs) in general, and to empower them to use the blended model in particular.
The Speakers of the workshop are Prof. Sachin Patwardhan, IIT Bombay, Prof. Ashish Pandey, IIT Bombay, and Prof. Virendra Sethi, IIT Bombay.
The workshop provided training to 32 participants on Technical Communication to make extensive use of Technology, and covered the following topics:
- Scientific method and its relationship to technical communication
- Listening and note taking
- Reading skills and summarizing
- Writing skills: methods, organization, summary
- Presentation skills: slide content, non-verbal
- Interview and Group Discussion skills
- Ethics
- Gender and cultural issues
- Internet communication.
