An Anti-Ragging – Awareness programme was organized at GIST on 24.08.2016,Wednesday for II.B.Tech students with the aim of bringing about awareness about adverse effects of ragging on their future.

Participating in the event as the chief guest Mrs.G.Getha, Senior Civil Judge, Kovur, sought to drive home the dire consequences of Ragging and emphasized the need for fostering a sense of goodwill and harmonious relations among the students to create an environment at the campus conducive to undisturbed academic pursuit. She elaborated the civil acts of and cautioned the students against getting entangled in the coils of law by resorting to Ragging.

Another guest of honor Mr.A.Venkata Rao, Sub Inspector of Police, Kovur, said that senior students should be the role models of juniors, by way of extending their cooperation and support to the juniors. He urged the students to promote unity through mutual understanding, respect and a spirit of accommodation to carry forward their mission in life and attain great heights of success.

Dr.G.Subba Rao, principal, said that the institution had earned a reputation as ragging free campus in the district. He added that the institution would live up to image of imitating all precautionary measures to curb ragging on the campus in future.

Mr.N.Sudhakar Reddy, Secretary & Correspondent and D.V.V.S.Phani Kumar, Director, Mr.Ashok Kumar, PD, Mahesh Kumar, NSS Officer were present on the occasion.
