About<\/span><\/h4>\n

Press, Media and Publicity Committee was established with a view to be the face of the institute and the single touch- point for all the communications of Geethanjali Institute of Science and Technology. The primary role of the Press, Media and Publicity Committee is to establish links with the local media and provide regular reports and press releases on campus news and opportunities. The committee is well-equipped with sophisticated machinery which are handled by trained and competent students.\u00a0The Committee also provides internal external media support for the events organized by GIST like Convocations, Conferences, Seminars, Sports weeks etc. The Press, Media and Publicity Committee also designs and arranges printing materials to be used in different events at GIST.<\/p>\n

Functions<\/span><\/h4>\n

  • To raise resources for publication of the College Magazine & Newsletter.<\/li>\n
  • To receive the articles \/ reports from the students\/staff and edit the same.<\/li>\n
  • To ensure that no reports\/articles objectionable in nature are published.<\/li>\n
  • To appoint students as sectional editors.<\/li>\n
  • To collect information on all the activities happening in the College and organize the content and regularly and publish the College Newsletter regularly twice a year.<\/li>\n
  • To get the magazine printed by April end and distribute the same to students and staff.<\/li>\n
  • The Newsletter shall be released Bi-annually (July & January) and cover extensively all the academic, curricular and co-curricular activities in the college.<\/li>\n
  • A format (template) for information shall be designed by the Committee and circulated to the Departments every month for acquiring complete information.<\/li>\n
  • The data thus collected shall be formatted and designed in bringing out the Newsletter in scheduled time. The Committee shall meet at frequent intervals, discuss related issues and record the minutes of their meetings.<\/li>\n
  • To disseminate the efforts and the achievements of the College, Students and Staff
    \nto the outer world through publicity in Media, News Papers, etc.<\/li>\n
  • To maintain the records of the activities conducted and submit the same to the IQAC Committee.<\/li>\n
  • To implement regular data collection methods<\/li>\n
  • To gather complete information given as below pertaining to all the Departments with regard to academic, Curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for inclusion in the College News letter<\/li>\n
  • To receive all the particulars and details as hard copies and mail copies through gistnewsletter@gist.edu.in<\/span><\/li>\n
  • To scrutinize articles (technical and literary), events, updates and any other related information of the college and publish the content in the magazine for internal and private circulation.<\/li>\n
  • To collect from all the HODs \/ Organizers \/ Conveners \/ NSS-Convener \/ Physical Director \/ AO shall maintain complete<\/strong> information, material, content and photographs of all the student, faculty or general activities regularly. To submit particulars of finalized upcoming events and data to be furnished in the College Newsletter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    1. One spacious hall for the students and faculty members to discuss about the activities.<\/li>\n
    2. One notices board is available outside the Press, Media and Publicity for pasting \/ keeping circulars, updating the event photos, press clippings, Year Planners etc.,<\/li>\n
    3. Having a good no.of chairs and space to discuss \/ conduct the committee meetings and training’s.<\/li>\n
    4. High configuration computers with graphic cards.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Roles & Responsibilities of Convener<\/strong><\/p>\n

      • To lead the Press, Media and Publicity team and to coordinate with faculty members from various departments to raise resources for publication of the college magazine and newsletter.<\/li>\n
      • Writing, editing, and distributing news releases to the news media.<\/li>\n
      • To publish the college newsletter twice a year after collecting the information on all the activities happening in the college.<\/li>\n
      • To maintain the records of the activities conducted and submit the same to the IQAC Committee.<\/li>\n
      • To gather department wise data and to send the write ups to the corrections.<\/li>\n
      • To ensure that the data gathered from the departments, published right time according to the schedule prepared.<\/li>\n
      • Takes the financial support from management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Roles & Responsibilities of Faculty Members<\/strong><\/p>\n

        • To coordinate the Press, Media and Publicity activities by mobilizing students and ensure the printing of magazines and publishing newsletters strictly according to the schedule prepared.<\/li>\n
        • Maintaining an up-to-date list of news media.<\/li>\n
        • To establish link with the local\u00a0media\u00a0and provide regular reports and\u00a0press\u00a0releases on campus news and opportunities.<\/li>\n
        • To ensure timeliness of the event articles are published and will be included in the next issue published twice a year.<\/li>\n
        • To encourage students for write-ups, poems, stories, pictures etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Roles & Responsibilities of Student Members<\/strong><\/p>\n

          • To make them participate in the social activities.<\/li>\n
          • To submit photographs of meeting participants, interesting meeting events, or other items, along with the meeting report, to the Convener at the conclusion of the meeting for publication.<\/li>\n
          • To inform the interested public about the activities of the section and to stimulate meeting attendance.<\/li>\n
          • To coordinate with faculty members and help them wherever required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
