Mentoring is collaboration \u2013 a caring, sharing, and encouraging relationship with a focus on the enhancement of the mentee’s growth and skill development. For mentees, the value of forging a close, ongoing, and evolving relationship with a mentor in their field can be tangible, such as increased compensation and greater career opportunities, or more abstract, such as building confidence through awareness about the vernacular and traditions of the professional education. For mentors, the process provides the opportunity to recognize and promote the abilities of individuals with less exposure within the supporting organization. This can result in diversifying talent and perspectives\u2014fostering a fertile environment for fresh approaches needed for academic or business success.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Functions” tab_id=”1580554012139-1dd770e4-e0d8″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Functions<\/span><\/h3>\n

Mentoring<\/span><\/h4>\n
    \n
  • The staff member should conduct\u00a0 counselling\/meetings every week during the\u00a0 semester with the allotted students.<\/li>\n
  • The detailed data of each allotted student should be collected in the format provided in a\u00a0register\u00a0<\/strong>(to be continued in the previous register).<\/li>\n
  • Any difficulties or problems faced by the allotted student should be noted and taken to the\u00a0 concerned committee (ICC\/ Ant ragging\/grievance committee) for relevant action<\/li>\n
  • The teacher should counsel the students for career guidance and higher studies preparation from the gross root level.<\/li>\n
  • The Parents\/Guardians of poor attendee\/performance students are called to meet the mentors and corrective and preventive measures are implemented for further improvement.<\/li>\n
  • A compiled action-taken report should be submitted at the end of the academic year to the\u00a0 Convenor in the given format.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Grievance Redressal<\/span><\/h4>\n
      \n
    • Receives complaints of students for \u00a0redressal of grievances. The cases will be attended promptly on receipt of written representation from the students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n
      • Deals with all the Grievances directly which are related to the common problems at Institute level both academic and administrative.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
          \n
        • Reviews all cases and will act accordingly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
            \n
          • Reports to the authority about the cases attended and the number of pending cases, if any, which require direction and guidance from the higher authorities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            1. To provide skills that will enable the students to deal effectively with aspects of environment.<\/li>\n
            2. To provide atmosphere in class\/college that permits the students to admit the feeling he\/she is experiencing.<\/li>\n
            3. To provide identification of proper model and constructive base of expressing feeling.<\/li>\n
            4. To train students in self control of emotions.<\/li>\n
            5. To provide with the variety of opportunities to participate in Dept.\/College activities leading towards the acceptances of responsibilities.<\/li>\n
            6. To organize camps, picnics, excursion and tours to provide them opportunities to understand each other and come closer.<\/li>\n
            7. To conduct orientation programmes for the fresher\u2019s;<\/li>\n
            8. To conduct training programmes for the identified Staff & Student counselors.<\/li>\n
            9. The counselling sessions for the needy students through staff \/ student \/ external expert counselors.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              The Counselling Committee meets once in a Semester to:<\/strong><\/p>\n

              1. Guide and support the Staff and Student Counselors in the College for effective counselling. \uf106<\/li>\n
              2. Facilitate the effective functioning of Mentor-Mentee system in the departments to closely monitor the student\u2019s academic progress and behaviour aspects.<\/li>\n
              3. Identify events \/ programmes to be conducted for the staff and students to create good environment and relations for effective Teaching and Learning.<\/li>\n
              4. Counsel the students at least twice in a month in tutorial groups about the problems of adolescents and also will guide them in new phase of life.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                The committee will meet immediately if there is an urgent matter relating to adolescents and redress the problems.<\/p>\n

                Mentoring<\/strong><\/p>\n

                • To counsel the students on academic, career as well as personal issues by respective mentors on a regular basis and to keep track of the progress of the mentee.<\/li>\n
                • To fill up the Counseling register.<\/li>\n
                • To provide discipline-specific academic counselling and current information regarding the most efficient route for completing a four-year B.Tech. Program.<\/li>\n
                • To discuss Course prerequisites and skills needed for effective completion of the \u00a0program completion<\/li>\n
                • To conduct frequent discussions with their parents\/guardians on issues relating to academic and others.<\/li>\n
                • To record all the details of all the above for reference at times of need in the Counseling<\/li>\n
                • To address the grievances by referring to the Committees concerned (ICC\/ Anti-ragging\/Grievance Committee) for appropriate action.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  • To introduce a fair, impartial and consistent mechanism for Redressal of various issue faced by the students\/parents.<\/li>\n

                  • To advise stakeholders to respect the right and dignity of one another, and not to behave in a vindictive manner towards any of them for any reason;<\/li>\n
                  • To ensure the grievances are resolved promptly, neutrally and in complete confidentially.<\/li>\n
