About<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Institution of Engineers (India) IE(I) head quartered in Kolkata , is a professional institution established based on a recommendation by the Sir Thomas Hulland , president of the Indian Industrial Commission during 1916-1918 to the Government of India. The IE(I) aims to promote the needs of the student community, acts as a platform to connect with global engineers and actively encourages R&D programs through various promotional aids. In addition supporting many types of activities such as Lectures, Seminars, Symposia, Workshops and other educational programs. Geethajali\u00a0 Institute of Science and Technology has been nurturing academic brilliance in young minds by encouraging and promoting student chapters of various technical societies. Thus, it lead to the formation of the GIST-IE(I) Students\u2019 Chapter.<\/p>\n

The Institution of Engineers India (IEI) EEE Students Chapter at Geethajali Institute of Science and Technology, Nellore, is recognized as an authorized student chapter approved by The Institutions of Engineers (India), Kolkata. Currently GIST- IE(I) students\u2019 chapter (EEE)\u00a0 holds\u00a0 60 members.<\/p>\n

  4. To provide common platform for students to exchange of ideas in technical topics of interest and to facilitate technical visits, project works, employment, contact with industries and academic institutions.<\/li>\n
  5. Encourage team spirit and self reliance among student members.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Benefits:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The benefits of being a member of the students\u2019 chapter are the following:<\/p>\n

    1. Various technical events like seminars, industrial visits, group discussions, technical quiz competitions, workshops and model\/ poster competitions will be organized throughout the year with sponsor and banner of IEI.<\/li>\n
    2. An Annual Students’ Convention with a Seminar on a topical subject and Technical Session will be conducted to provide a platform for presentation of technical papers and building fellowship and opportunities for networking with peers and senior members to the Institution.<\/li>\n
    3. Opportunity to participate in technical events e.g. Seminars, Symposia, Conventions, Workshops etc. organized by various IEI centers at State, National and International levels at a concessional rate of 20%.<\/li>\n
    4. Scholarships for selected student members will be given by IEI.<\/li>\n
    5. R & D grant from IEI.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
