It is fully computerized and furnished, the ambience provided by the facilities and atmosphere, and all the students and staff find it conducive for constructive study. Library orientation has to do with introducing new library users to the library.\u00a0 Orientation is primarily concerned with ways of introducing the user to the general techniques of Library usage and services available, and the organization, layout and facilities of a particular library. The College has the best practice of collecting and maintaining rare books, competitive books or any other knowledge resources for the students and\u00a0 faculty to use as resource materials for enrichment of their knowledge, research and exploring new things.\u00a0 Apart from the standard books, the library maintains some rare books like Knowledge Encyclopedia, Aircraft Performance, along with these, the library is stocked with a collection of\u00a0 books for competitive exams like GATE, GMAT, and UPSC.\u00a0 Together with these, some biographies of the well-known inspirational authors A journal, on completion of its volume will be processed for binding. After the binding is over, the volume will be accessioned and added to the Back-Volume shelf. Book(s) issued on loan and all permitted materials like note books, files, etc. taken inside the library are to be given for inspection by the security staff when leaving the library.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Circulation Counter: <\/strong>The circulation counter is automated. Books are issued on loan and received returns in this counter.\u00a0 Barcode scanners are used in the circulation counter for issue\/return of books. Any users find a defective book\/ damaged book bring it to the notice of circulation staff. Damaged \/ defective books returned by the users are charged as per the rules.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Circulation Policy<\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>General books are issued to all eligible members as per their entitlements.<\/li>\n<li>The renewal limit is one time, subject to the condition that it will not be requested by another user.<\/li>\n<li>Transfer of books is not permissible.<\/li>\n<li>Books issued will not be accepted back on the same day<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Acquisition<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Receiving requests from Heads of Departments for new books, duplicate checking, ordering, accessioning of books and processing bills for payment are the main functions of this section. Suggestions and recommendations for the purchase of new books can be submitted to this section. All the books received from vendors\/publishers and the donated books are physically processed and accessioned in this section. The section also has the responsibility of scrutinizing and passing the bill for books received.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Loss of book must be reported immediately. Late fees, if any, will be charged till the loss of the book is reported. If the original library book is returned after reporting it lost, the fine will be calculated till the date of its return.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Classification<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Dewey Decimal Classification scheme is used for classifying books according to the subject. Each book is assigned a Call Number which consists of a Class Number and Book Number. Class Number is assigned to a book according to its subject matter. Book Number individualizes a book among others having the same Class Number. The Call Number is written on the spine label of the book.<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Catalogue<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The bibliographic details like edition, year of publication, subject, keywords, etc. are prepared by this section. The details entered in this section are indexed on various fields like Author; Title, Subjects, Classification Number, Keywords, etc., and can be retrieved through the OPAC service.<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Others<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Reference Section: <\/strong>The library has a good reference collection of various dictionaries, study material for students to prepare for examinations such as GRE, TOEFL, CAT, GMAT, IELTS and GATE are made available. Sufficient reading tables and chairs are provided to the users.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stack Section <\/strong>It is an integral part of the Library. Its main function is to display and maintenance of books that are issued on loan.\u00a0 Members can avail open access facility. Books are arranged on the shelves according to Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme. Each book is assigned a Class Number and Book Number. Class Number is assigned to a book according to its subject and Book Number individualizes a book among others having the same Class Number. In this arrangement books on the same subject are kept together. Members are advised to check the availability of the books through the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) Service.
