A TWO-WEEK ISTE WORKSHOP ON “Introduction to Design of Algorithms” was conducted during 25th May 2015-30th May 2015  at Geethanjali Institute of Science & Technology, Nellore, Center code 1294, is the Remote center of IIT, Kharagpur/Bombay for ISTE Workshop.  under the National Mission on Education through IIT BOMBAY, MHRD, Govt. of India coordinated by Dr. Y. Jahnavi and Mr. I. Ravi Shireesh.

The workshop was conducted through the DISTANCE EDUCATION mode and transmitted live through internet (A-View software).The Workshop was organized  in blended MOOC model, so as to train teachers for adopting the use of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) in general, and to empower them to use the blended model in particular.

The Speakers of the workshop are Prof. Partha Pratim Chakrabarti, IIT Bombay, Prof. Partha Pratim Das, IIT Bombay, and Prof. Pallab Dasgupta, IIT Bombay.

The workshop provided training to 35 participants on Introduction to Design of Algorithms to make teaching and research effectively, and covered the following topics:

  • Elements of Algorithm Analysis-1.
  • Elements of Algorithm Analysis-2.
  • Basic Design Methods.
  • Data Structuring.
  • Searching and Sorting.
  • Basic Graph Algorithms.
  • Matrix and String Problems.
