Two-day Workshop on PCB DESIGN at GIST

A two-day workshop was held under the joint collaboration of the ECE Department and Embedded Wings, Visakhapatnam on 19th and 20th august 2016. The first session was entirely devoted to the introduction and the elaboration about the software’s used in the PCB design.

The Resource person Mr. Ajay interacted with the students and faculty and threw much light on the area of Printed Circuit Board and outlined various processes involved in distinguishing a PCB. He also explained at length various kinds of software used in PCB design, the theoretical aspects and also its application and implantation. In the afternoon session of the first day of workshop the resource person touched upon the subject of Proteous software.

In the Saturday session, i.e. the second day of the workshop, Mr. Ajay, the resource person offered assistance to the students in working on the software to design PCB, integrating with it the Proteous software.

The Two-day workshop turned out to be a grand success, as valuable inputs on PCB design were delivered by the resource person, Mr. Ajay Kumar, who enabled the students to the gain- hands on experience on PCB by exposing them to the practical application and implementation of PCB design, using Proteous software.

Dr.  G. Subba Rao, the principal in his inaugural address said that GIST, in its endeavor to shape up many talented technocrats, has been conducting a wide range of workshops, with the objective of felicitating the enhancement of the student’s skill set, and making them industry-ready. The PCB design workshop would immensely benefit the ECE and EEE students in forming a several intricate and advanced software technology. Mrs. G. Kameswari, HoD, R&D, Mr. P. Raghava Reddy, HoD, ECE, Mr. TNVLN Kumar, H.O.D, EEE, Faculty and students participated in the workshop.
