TWO WEEK ISTE WORKSHOP ON “Cyber Security” was conducted during 10th July 2014-20st July 2014 at Geethanjali Institute of Science & Technology, Nellore, Center code 1294, is the Remote center of IIT, Kharagpur/Bombay for ISTE Workshop.  under the National Mission on Education through IIT BOMBAY, MHRD, Govt. of India coordinated by Dr. Y. Jahnavi and Mr. Y. Madhava Rao.

The workshop was conducted through the DISTANCE EDUCATION mode and transmitted live through internet (A-View software).The Workshop was organized  in blended MOOC model, so as to train teachers for adopting the use of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) in general, and to empower them to use the blended model in particular.

The Speakers of the workshop are Prof. Deepak B. Phatak, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Bombay and Prof. Sridhar Iyer Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Bombay

The workshop provided training to 40 participants on Cyber Security to make teaching and research effectively, and covered the following topics:

  • Authentication Protocols
  • Transport Layer Security(SSL/TLS)

  • Malware Protection
  • Web Application Security
  • Browser security.
  • Intrusion detection and Prevention
  • Security Tools- Wireshark, Snort, Metasploit, etc.
